The South Florida Junior Golf Foundation Tour held its season opening tour event this weekend at the The Country Club of Miami.
In the Boys 15 - 18 division, CollegeBoundGolfers.com-Class of 2007 recruit, Alex Yost captured his first victory of 2006 with a very impressive two day score of 142. Yost fired 69 in the opening round to give himself a 4 shot lead over fellow American Heritage High School team mate and 2005 FSHAA Boys State Champion, Neil Horsley. Yost managed to hold on to his lead through the second round with a 73, finishing 2 shots ahead of Horsely who kept the "pressure on" all the way until the last hole. In the Boys 13 - 14 division, CollegeBoundGolfers.com Class of 2010 recruit, Aldo Amianto fired an opening round of 73 and closed with a 76 to capture his first victory on the SFJGF Tour. Amianto defeated CollegeBoundGolfers.com Class of 2010 recruit Robert Chiste of Boyton Beach by 5 shots. Chiste shot 80 - 74. Finishing third was CollegeBoundGolfer.com Class of 2011 recruit Christopher Ingham who shot 77 - 81.
In the Girls 12 - 18 Division, CollegeBoundGolfers.com Class of 2010 recruit Shelby Coyle opened with a 76 and closed with a 79 for a two day total of 155, defeating Archbishop High School freshman,and CollegeBoundGolfers.com Class of 2009 recruit Diana Davis by 2 shots. Davis opened with 83, but closed strong with a final round score of 74 for a two day total of 157. American Heritage sophmore and CollegeBoundGolfers.com Class of 2008 recruit Monica Miller finished 3rd with a two day total of 159. Miller closed strong with a final round of 74.
